Dr Giselle Withers
Clinical Psychologist

Founder and Course Instructor

Dr. Giselle Withers is a Clinical Psychologist and mindfulness teacher with over 20 years of experience treating chronic sleep disturbance, chronic illness, trauma, depression and anxiety and helping people looking for support with confidence, self-esteem and self-identity. She holds a Doctor of Psychology (Clinical, CAF) from La Trobe University, is registered with AHPRA, aa Fellow of the College of Clinical Psychologists with the Australian Psychological Society, and member of the Australasian Sleep Association.

Giselle is a pioneer of mindfulness-based therapy for insomnia (MBTI) in Australia. She founded A Mindful Way, an evidence-based online sleep improvement program that delivers mindfulness meditation training and cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). Researchers at Monash University evaluated the program in a randomized controlled study, which showed that 83% of participants reported a clinically significant reduction in symptoms, and 75% recovered from insomnia, reporting normal sleep by the end of the study.

Driven by the high rates of insomnia worldwide and the shortage of sleep specialists, Giselle continues to champion digital therapy in sleep health. She also educates and supervises other psychologists and health professionals in treating insomnia. Currently, Giselle practices on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers, NSW, and Australia-wide video Telehealth. She has presented at Australian and international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and provides workplace workshops and seminars.
